A film produced by the Israeli Film Service, based on Yigal Alon’s book “My Father’s House” and five notebooks where his father, Reuven Paykovitz, recorded his stories. The film includes interviews with family members and residents of Kfar Tavor, interwoven with scenes depicting an imagined night in the 1940s during Reuven’s old age. Themes of love for the land, the pioneer spirit of early Israel, the shift away from agriculture, and the ideological tensions between Yigal Alon and his father, Reuven Paykovitz, come together to create a compelling portrayal of a vanished world.
