David Perlov’s film, produced by the World Zionist Organization and the Information Center (Hasbara), reviews the various initiatives in Israel in commemorating the Holocaust and its victims. From the monuments and sculptures in Kibbutzim Ma’ale HaHamisha and Yad Mordechai, through a visit to The Ghetto Fighters’ House alongside Yitzhak “Antek” Zuckerman, and documenting conservation and cataloging initiatives at the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem, Perlov documents how the young State of Israel shapes its narrative of commemorating the Holocaust, using photos taken from the Yad Vashem collections. Perlov concludes his film with stills and videos from the Adolf Eichmann trial, an event of enormous importance in the history of Israeli society, to which Perlov will return 18 years later in his renowned film “Memoirs of the Eichmann Trial.”
