A news journal produced for the municipality of Safed.
As part of his tour of the Galilee, the Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, Arie Dulzin, visited Safed. The mayor, Aharon-Rafael Nachmias, received him at a festive meeting of the city council and presented him with a medallion and a small flag. On the occasion of Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel’s Wars, a ceremony was held in the presence of the mayor, citizens, students, and Prime Minister Menachem Begin, who laid a wreath in memory of the fallen. At the city’s Independence Day evening gala, Nachmias addressed thousands of residents who came to celebrate. The President of the State visited the city and was received by the youth orchestra that played in his honor. At a ceremony held in his honor, the mayor presented him with a medallion, after which the President toured the city and the Artists’ Quarter of Safed, where he met the artists Tzipora Brenner and Milia Laufer. A dedication ceremony was held for the new religious school in the city. The establishment was funded by the millionaire Leon Taman.
