A documentary film produced by the Israel Film Service and Keshet Broadcasting for the Hasbara Center, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the First Zionist Congress. It tells the story of Theodor Herzl’s life and his Zionist mission. The film provides a detailed description of the stages of his political and diplomatic activities from 1891 to 1897, interspersed with “reenacted interviews” with his acquaintances. It covers his time as a correspondent for the Viennese newspaper “Neue Freie Presse,” his observations during the Dreyfus Trial, which inspired him to write the book “The Jewish State,” and the initiation of the Zionist Congress in Basel in 1897, which led to the establishment of the World Zionist Organization.
