A short documentary film produced by the Israel Film Service about Belsky’s Partisan Unit, a group of Jewish partisans who rescued Jews from extermination during the Holocaust and fought the Nazis and their local collaborators in the Novogrudok and Lida regions of the Kresy area in occupied Poland (now western Belarus). The group, led by the Belsky brothers—Tuvia, Zus, and Asael—from the village of Stankiewicze, managed to ensure the survival of 1,236 Jews over more than two years of conflict. Through archival footage and interviews with partisans and historian Yehuda Bauer, the film reveals the story of this remarkable group throughout World War II.
