“Once upon a time everything was simple, everyone danced to the same tune, the public was satisfied and the consensus celebrated. Today nothing is sacred. It is also not easy to appease today’s discerning audience.” This video-collection opens on that note, presenting the new artistic movement of the mid-nineties born out of the various changes in the Israeli society of the time. Many artists, more and less well-known, participate in the liberalization of the Israeli artistic space inspired by winds of hope for peace, and by the openness to the increasingly globalized world. The film expresses that the work of the film’s artists is made possible with the assistance of the Public Council for Culture and Art, whose action and influence are described during the film.
