he excerpt from “A Pictorial Review of Kolbuszowa” was filmed in 1929 in Sokolow. It is a rare testimony to life in a bustling East European shtetl, fundamentally different from the shtetl archetype. It shows people and places in Sokolow: Rue de Camianne; Jewish Children and Types; The Square at Kamienska St.; the Synagogue, the City Hall; and Rzezower Street.
The full film is centered in Kolbuszowa‬, and several parts were dedicated to the towns of Rasznyzów, Sokołów, and Rzeszów. Pictorial Review of Kolbuszowa was shot with funding from the Kolbuszowa‬ Aid Association in cooperation with the Kolbuszowa‬ Youth Association. Pesach Zukerman produced the film with the intention of raising funds from former residents of the Stetl who emigrated to America.
