An episode from a series of short documentaries, produced by the Israel Film Service.
Like a solid rock amidst a whirlwind of changes, Avraham Varshev’s grocery store stands in Neve Tzedek neighborhood in Tel Aviv. The small shop, which has become a landmark, has been in its place for 40 years, but the surrounding neighborhood is transforming: impoverished families are leaving their homes, replaced by a more affluent population. This film documents Neve Tzedek at the peak of a gentrification process and brings forth the voices of both old and new residents.
Alongside Vershev and the director Anat Even, the film features Haim Vershev, Tzipora Vershev, David Vershev, Gabi Doron, Rachel Tal-Shir Sahar, Nira Rabinovitz, Yossi Vaknin, and David Mugrabi.
