How does a Jewish conductor with a yarmulke and Tsitsith come to stand on a stage in a crowded concert hall in Prague?
The film follows Israeli composer and conductor Elli Jaffe, who became part of the musical world of Prague. Son of a religious native Jerusalem family, he combines Jewish heritage with the world of classical music.
The film documents his arrival at the Jewish Music Festival in Prague, and includes many scenes of the picturesque city and Jewish institutions that existed there accompanied by classical music.
The film shows his close relationship with the local orchestra members , his view on music and how it helped him cope with his physical limitation, his intense love for composer Mahler and his spiritual world.
The film also presents anecdotes about the Jewish community of Prague and its disappearance after World War II.
