A short film produced to commemorate Knesset member and former Israeli Minister of Education and Culture, Zevulun Hammer. Since his political career began in the 1950s, Hammer served as Minister of Education (thrice appointed), as Minister of Religious Services and as Deputy Prime Minister. Throughout his 28-year tenure as a Knesset member – which lasted from 1969 until his passing in January, 1998 – Hammer championed the integration of the religious Zionist sector in Israeli society and politics, while spearheading initiatives in the Ministry of Education and supporting Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria as a representative of the National Religious Party (“Mafdal”). In this short film produced in his memory, Hammer’s friends and colleagues eulogize him and share their thoughts about him, his vision and his life’s work within the Israeli government.
