A series featuring life stories of prominent Israeli actors, showcasing rare footage and moving monologues, produced by the Israeli Film Service.
“From my first visit to the theater at the age of 14, when I saw the stage, the lighting, and the festive screen that opened and revealed the magic world of the theater, I knew I wanted to become an actress.” Orna Porat excitedly describes the defining moment that changed her life.
Porat shares her fascinating life story, beginning as a Christian girl in Nazi Germany, falling in love with Jew Yosef Porat and her arrival in Israel to a completely different world to which she immediately connected.
Along with reflecting on various moments of her career, she discusses her surprising approval by Israeli society, the change in the cultural status of the theater, and especially her life’s work and great pride: the establishment of Orna Porat Children’s Theater, and her efforts to make theater accessible to diverse populations.
