Rare footage documenting the construction of the WIZO Center for Mother and Child Care in Tel Aviv (1950–1953). The film shows Hadassah Grzovski Samuel; Rella Ben Yaakov, the center’s head nurse; medical director Shimon Shereshevsky; donors of WIZO’s South Africa Federation; and architects and construction workers. Towards the end of the film, the guests gather around a table on the construction site and an architect explains the building plans to them. Seen in the background are Tel Aviv streets, Kiryat Meir, Sarona, and open fields.

The cornerstonelaying ceremony of the center was held on March 30, 1949, with Tel Aviv Mayor Israel Rokach; WIZO representatives from Israel and abroad, including Rebecca Sieff, president of World WIZO; Hadassah Grzovski Samuel; and renowned paediatrician Dr. Helena Kagan, who served the organization during its early years. Project architect Benjamin Ankstein (1903–1949) died before construction began and his work was completed by architect Georg Leschnitzer (1885–1951) and engineer Bar-Natan. A decade later, in the same complex, the cornerstone was laid for the WIZO headquarters, named after Rebecca Sieff.
