On the occasion of Alice Shalev’s 95th birthday, we conducted an interview with her in her cozy home in Beit HaKerem neighborhood of Jerusalem. Shalev, a respected educator, one of the founders of the “Women’s Lobby” in Israel, winner of the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement in her work for human rights and works for justice for women, deposited in our archive years ago her family’s home film collection. The collection provides rare documentation of various stations in her life from the 1940s to the 1970s, through immigration to Eretz Israel, family life in Jerusalem on the eve of the War of Independence, as well as rare moments in the shaping of the State of Israel.
