A state burial ceremony takes place in Tel Aviv for victims of the El Al Israeli plane, which was shot down in Bulgaria by Bulgarian warplanes due to a mistake in identification. An El Al plane leaves for Israel carrying the bodies of 58 victims from different religions and nationalities who were killed in the crash, and will be buried in a mass grave in Israel. A large crowd gathers on the streets of Tel Aviv near the Knesset Square (Herbert Samuel) to pay respects to the coffins transported on vehicles. The funeral procession ends in the Kiryat Shaul Cemetery, where a state burial ceremony is held and the coffins of the victims are laid in a mass grave at the cemetery.
