The State of Israel marks its first Independence Day, and a large crowd gathers on the streets of Tel Aviv, people are holding posters and much commotion is seen on Allenby Street and near the Great Synagogue. Later, a military parade will be held on the city streets. Inside the Great Synagogue on Allenby Street, a prayer service is being held in the presence of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, accompanied by Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett and the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv, Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman, who is speaking to the congregation. Afterwards is depicted a session at the General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York, where empty seats of the representatives of the Arab countries can be seen after their representatives left the hall, as the delegates walk out other members applaud them. The Israeli delegation to the UN, led by Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett, and Israels first ambassador to the UN, Abba Eban, marches into the hall, Minister Sharett shakes hands with several members of the assembly.
