A ceremony marking the departure of British High Commissioner for Palestine, General Alan Cunningham, upon leaving Eretz Yisrael-Palestine ahead of the establishment of the state of Israel. First a farewell ceremony for the High Commissioner is held at the residence at the Commissioner in Jerusalem, at the Government House (Armon Hanatziv). A military ceremony is held in the palace garden where the Commissioner is seen alongside British Mandate soldiers. The commissioner then takes off from an airport in Jerusalem and lands in Haifa, where a second military ceremony is held. Finally, the High Commissioner gets on a boat at Haifa port, which heads out to sea, where he will board a British ship.
