A short explanatory film produced by the Israeli Film Service for the Jewish Agencys Agricultural Department.
In order to integrate the Jewish immigrants of the big aliyah in the 1950s, the Jewish Agency planned their settlement in the Lachish region. In the area, whose capital is the city of Kiryat Gat, agricultural settlements were established by a new and modern model. Drawing lessons from the establishment of previous settlements, this model was designed to preserve the cultures of immigrants from different communities, while also promoting their integration into the growing Israeli society. The settlers are being provided with modern and accessible municipal services as well as education, sport, and medical services in the community centers the heart of the communities, while in Kiryat Gat they can enjoy the rich cultural city life.
