Timna Goldstein and Hadar Kleinman’s film follows Zippora Bat-Israel, a member of Israel’s African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem (aka ‘Black Hebrews’) community. Living in the southern city of Dimona, Zippora wakes up one morning after 21 years of marriage to an altogether new reality: her husband, on par with their community’s standard polygamist practices, is to marry another woman, 14 years her junior. At the heart of the film is an effort to understand how these two women are able to share one man, and all the pain and anguish that comes with the territory.
