Director Oren Ben-Simon brings us a poetic absurdist film, at the heart of which is the story of Moris (Ben-Simon), a Tel Avivian poet grappling with his partner’s bipolar disorder, one’s existence in the urban jungle, and words. Moris’s words, the poetry he commits to paper manages to heal his partner – but just as she finds her way back to the light, he begins to fade. The film is an elegy to ‘Little Tel Aviv’ of yore as it slowly gets swallowed up in a sea of newbuilds and high risers.
Moris’s mate Edery, a lonely childless bookshop owner is played by Eitan Sneh who viewers may remember from Boaz Davidson’s 1986 film, Alex is Lovesick (‘Alex Holeh Ahavah’), where he played the titular role.
