This is the third and final instalment in Nissim Mossek’s docuseries which he set out to make in the hopes of shedding light on various stories from Jerusalem’s rich history, cultures, and multitude of faiths – thereby, perhaps gaining better understanding of the present and future. Through a series of interviews with theologists, historians, and archaeologists, this third part explores Jerusalem through the prism of it being Islam’s third-holiest city (after Mecca and Medina) – the place where the prophet Muhammad’s night journey (aka ‘Al Isra’ and wal-Mi’raj) is said to have concluded according to Muslim faith; a journey that began in Mecca and, at the end of which he ascended to heaven through the farthest place of worship – the Al-Aqsa mosque in the Temple Mount.
