Director Yaniv Berman’s dystopian feature film is a coming-of-age story, against the backdrop of a violent, complex reality. Wartime. In a neighbourhood predominantly housing military personnel, the women anxiously await the men’s return from the front. Meanwhile, a group of children are playing various war and hunting games in a nearby abandoned military base; that is until two absconded soldiers turn up and claim the place as their own. Soon, a violent turf war starts between the kids and the soldiers over control of the base. Having toured the international festival circuit extensively, the film stands out as an allegory for the endlessly cyclical violence in Israel.
