Director Yair Lev’s graduation project from Tel Aviv University’s Department of Film and Television Studies is a stylised, black and white noir short. Michael is released from prison and goes to see Mona, whom he loves. He wants to run off to Switzerland with her, but things aren’t that simple. Herr Hemo, a gangster who looked after Michael’s mum when he was locked up wants Mona, a prodigious violinist, to return to work for him as a sex worker. Hemo must teach Michael that the whole world can’t very well be yours, and yours alone for the grabbing; least of all when you have holes in your hands. The film was shot by Jorge Gurvich and edited by Shemi Zarhin. It was shown at countless film festivals around the world, including the Munich Festival of Future Storytellers.
