An intimate, stylised, lyrical, and aesthetic glimpse into the life of six-year-old Alva who is on the cusp of starting school and the longwinded process of saying goodbye to his childhood. The director’s intimate and barely-above-a-whisper conversations with his son before bedtime, and the latter’s own chats with his father at daybreak as they walk along the beach together, bring all kinds of questions and musings about fatherhood to the fore. Three generations taking a long hard look at life, the past, and the many fears that come along with the future. Summer Nights won Best Film Docaviv – The Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival.
