The film We Are One, from the Steven Spielberg Jewish Film Archives film collection, describes the contribution of the United Jewish Foundation to the Jewish community in Chicago after antisemitic attacks in the years 19781981. The film opens with a quote from Adolf Hitler, excerpts from a neoNazi demonstration in Marquette Park in Chicago in 1978, Rabbi Shalmans testimony about the burning of a synagogue in Chicago in 1979, a report on the destruction of the Shimon Wiesenthal Center in 1980 including Shimon Wiesenthals response to the attack. The film presents Jewish life in Berlin in 1939 compared to Chicago in 1980.
