At his office in Washington, D.C, Chairman of the United States Atomic Energy Commission Lewis Strauss hands the Israeli Ambassador to the country Abba Eban a document. It contains the American governments guarantee to contribute 350 thousand dollars to the establishment of a nuclear reactor for peaceful purposes in the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot. At the Institute for Nuclear Science, inaugurated the same month at the Weizmann Institute, scientists operate research and measurement devices.
