Maccabi Hatzair Movement Holds Torch Relay

2200 youths belonging to the Maccabi youth movement embark on the traditional Hanukkah torch relay. The first route will arrive in Haifa, a second route will pass through Ramla and past the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, where the widow of the first President, Dr. Vera Weizmann, will light the menorah at the Weizmann Institute, near the grave lot of President Chaim Weizmann. The third route runs through the streets of Jerusalem toward President Yitzhak Ben-Zvis residence, who is seen meeting the runners at the doorstep of his home. The Movements leaders are seen arriving at the presidents doorstep and giving him the burning torch. Lastly, a torch parade ceremony for schoolchildren who march with burning torches.
