Defense Loan Following the Suez Crisis

In a conference in Tel Aviv, Minister of Finance Levi Eshkol and Prime Minister David Ben Gurion announce a defense loan, following the Suez Crisis. Israel Government Printer prints defense loan bills (bonds) in total worth of 40 million Israeli pounds. At the Presidents House in Jerusalem, Eshkol hands the first bond to the first buyer, President of Israel Yitzhak Ben Zvi. Citizens queue at a Kupat Haam Bank branch to buy the bonds, whose purchasing is voluntary.
