Days after the Knesset voted to lengthen the mandatory military service from two to two and a half years, supporters of Maki, the Israeli Communist Party, demonstrate in Tel Aviv against the change. More than a thousand people participate, holding signs calling for peace. Tension between demonstrators and their opponents is apparent.
