President of Israel Zalman Shazar Visits Brazil

During his trip to South America, President of Israel Zalman Shazar and his wife Rachel make an official visit to Brazil. A reception awaits the president on landing at the airport in Brasília. Shazar inspects a guard of honor and heads in a convoy to the presidential palace. At the Palace, Shazar meets with Brazilian President Humberto Castello Branco. Afterward, President Shazar and his wife tour the Brazilian capital and meet with the local Jewish community. On the presidents arrival in São Paulo, he lays a wreath of flowers on the Monument to the Independence of Brazil. Finally, Shazar meets with Brazilian parliament members and diplomats and is awarded honorary citizenship.
