The establishment of the HaAvoda Labor Party is taking place with the unification of the three parties: Rafi, Mapai and Ahdut HaAvoda. The long-awaited union takes place at a formal ceremony of signing the union treaty in Beit Elisheva in the Katamon neighborhood, Jerusalem. Attending the ceremony of signing the treaty are Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, Shimon Peres, Golda Meir, Moshe Dayan, Yitzhak Ben-Aharon and others. Later at Binyenei HaUma in Jerusalem, the Labor Party founding conference is held, featuring Israeli and international guests. Shimon Peres is seen delivering a speech to the audience, and Prime Minister Levi Eshkol makes the central speech at the conference. In the audience are seen Knesset member Menachem Begin and Health Minister Israel Barzilai of Mapam listening to Eshkols speech.
