Uganda President General Idi Amin arrives to an official visit to Israel in his private jet, which was manufactured by the Israel Aerospace Industries. General Amin is received at a state ceremony at Lod Airport, greeted by Foreign Minister Abba Eban and Defense Minister Moshe Dayan, as well as Foreign Ministry officials and senior IDF officers. General Amin reviews a guard of honor of IDF soldiers, walking alongside Avigdor Shoham, Head of Ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his visit, General Amin meets with Prime Minister Golda Meir and Foreign Minister Abba Eban to discuss Israeli aid in Uganda. General Amin denies rumors that the Ugandan government is interested in ending Israeli aid. At the end of the visit, an official announcement will be issued by the Foreign Ministry on continued cooperation between Israel and Uganda, including further training and development programs run by Israel at the request of the Ugandan government.
