Bedouin Painter Bashir Abu-Rabia Exhibits His Works at the Arad Museum

The Bedouin painter Bashir Abu-Rabia is seen painting as he sits in a tent of the Bedouin Abu-Rabia tribe in the Negev, not far from Arad. The 18-year-old painter hangs his paintings on one of the tribal tents on permanent display. After an item about him appeared in the Maariv newspaper, the director of the Arad Museum invited him to a meeting. Impressed by his paintings, the museum manager offered Abu-Rabia to exhibit his works at the museum, and the exhibition is now on display at the Arad Municipal Museum. Later, Abu-Rabia will study at the Avni Institute of Art and in Paris. He currently lives and works in Jaffa. In addition to painting, he designs art and special effects in the Israeli film industry.
