An opening ceremony of Yad Rabbi Maimon, a center for Torah and Jewish studies within the Rabbi Kook Institute in Jerusalem. The ceremony is attended by President of Israel Zalman Shazar, Chief Rabbi of Israel Yitzhak Nissim, Minister of Internal Affairs Haim Moshe Shapira, Deputy Minister of Health Yitzhak Rafael who is also the chairman of the institution, Knesset Member David Ben Gurion, Mayor Mordechai Ish Shalom, and Chief Military Rabbi Lieutenant General Shlomo Goren. After the opening ceremony, lectures are given by Goren and Professor Yigael Yadin. The Yad Rabbi Maimon Institute is a Torah research institute and a seminary for religious teachers.
