A bottle of champagne is smashed against the side panels of Esther, the first ship built in Israel, launched at the Israel Shipyards in the Kishon port. The new ship will join the fleet of the ZIM shipping company. The ships construction process is documented. Minister of Transport Yisrael Bar Yehuda, Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, and others speak at the ceremony. The ship is launched by Ada Golomb, the widow of Eliyahu Golomb, one of the Haganah undergrounds commanders.
