Norwegian Prime Minister Einar Gerhardsen made an official visit to Israel and was welcomed by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. He visited Yad Vashem and toured Maale HaHamisha kibbutz. Later, Gerhardsen planted a tree in Neve Ilan Forest, named after Haakon VII, King of Norway. Afterward, the guest visited a Gadna camp and watched the Israelis, Africans, and Asians train. Finally, Gerhardsen observed a Knesset session.
