First Israeli Airplane Arava Maiden Flight

At Lod Airport, Prime Minister Golda Meir cuts a ribbon in the maiden flight of the first airplane planned and made entirely in Israel, Arava. Two pilots enter the aircraft, that was built over 3 years by the Israel Aerospace Industries. After a short acceleration along 120 meters on the runway, the plane takes off – and lands safely.
