The Remains of Herzl are Brought to Final Rest in Jerusalem

Air Force airplanes fly over Haifa. An El AL air plane with the casket of Herzl lands at Lod Airport. General Yosef Avidar, rabbis and Dr. Yitzhak Grinbaum wait near the airplane. The casket of Herzl is lowered from the plane as officials and soldiers stand at attention. The casket is loaded onto a truck that heads for Tel Aviv, escorted by a crowd. The casket is placed in the Knesset Square on a stage and a ceremony takes place. A rabbi prays. Prime Minister David Ben Gurion and Yosef Sprinzak stand with officials, army personnel, ministers and Knesset members. The following day, a convoy transfers the casket to Jerusalem. The convoy arrives at the National Institution building. Officials, army personnel an reports greet the convoy. World Zionist Organization and Jewish Agency Chairman Berl Locker speaks from an ornamented terrace alongside officials. The casket is placed on the ground and an honor guard approaches. The convoy leaves for Mount Herzl escorted by motorcycles. The convoy passes through the streets of Jerusalem at the presence of a large crowd. A crowd marches up to the memorial site in Mount Herzl. Officials, IDF officers and Ben Gurion escort the casket. An honor guard at the tomb accepts the casket. Various settlement representatives lay sacks of dirt into the grave with names of settlements.
