1947. In the days leading up to 29 November when the UN announced the end of the British Mandate over Palestine and the creation of a Jewish state, Miriam Seidman and George Khoury fall in love.
She is a Jewish girl and the daughter of a Jewish resistance fighter, whist he is a Palestinian and the son of a wealthy Jaffan tradesman. Their already hostile environment is rocked by their relationship and as the 1948 War of Independence breaks out, the two face a host of further obstacles. Gideon Ganani’s film, based on a screenplay by Benny Barabash, is a modern-day take of sorts on ROMEO AND JULIET that draws its inspiration from a true story.
