Nadia is an ambitious, driven girl from one of the Arab villages in central Israel who has dreams of becoming a doctor. To that end, and despite her friends’ vociferous protests she decides to enrol in a Jewish boarding school in an effort to acclimate to Jewish lifestyle, and to the country’s dominant culture. Beyond the standard teenage woes, Nadia must also grapple with issues relating to her national identity; from ongoing difficulties to adapt and settle in, to her fellow students’ downright hostile treatment of her – which only escalates in the wake of a terror attack. Amnon Rubinstein’s big screen adaptation of Galila Ron-Feder Amit’s novel of the same title, starring Hanna Azoulay Hasfari, Yuval Banai, and Meir Banai. (No Hebrew Subtitles)
