One’s sense of isolation and alienation in Israel as experienced by Nina, a French pianist whose marriage to Ilan has led her to immigrate to Israel. Before long, the private and political start to blend together: Nina struggles to reinvent herself as pianist in her new, adoptive country. Her ultimate aim is to play with the Philharmonic, however, at the same time, she must also juggle having to raise a child whilst dealing her husband’s injury which he sustained during military reserve duty. His lifechanging injuries not only leave Nina now having to care for a paraplegic spouse, she is also forced to grapple with the reality of the secret that led to his condition.
