Jonathan Cherchi is a theatre, TV, and film actor. In 1987, Cherchi won the Best Actor award at the Acco Festival of Alternative Israeli Theatre for his performance in the play, Midnight Review (‘bikoret hatzot’). In 1997, he appeared in the monodrama, Mister V. – a play about the life of Israeli peace activist and nuclear whistleblower, Mordechai Vanunu that has been performed on some of the world’s most prestigious theatre festival stages. Cherchi’s CV boasts a long list of stage credits, having appeared in many plays at the Cameri Theatre and the Haifa Theatre over the years. In television, he has starred in TV series such as Taxi Driver (aka Texi Driver), Asfur, Sisters (aka My Successful Sisters), and many more. Highlights of his film credits include A Thousand and One Wives (Michal Bat-Adam, 1992), Electric Blanket (Assi Dayan, 1994), Ingil (Arnon Zadok, 2001), Nina’s Tragedies (Savi Gabizon, 2003), Aviva, My Love (Shemi Zarhin, 2006), Nymphs in the Mist (Yoram Sachs, 2008), Maya (Michal Bat-Adam, 2010), and Encirclements (Lee Gilat, 2014).
