Aki Avni is a film, television, and theatre actor, and TV presenter. Avni shot to fame in the 1990s as the host of several TV programmes whilst at the same time, starring in a range of films. Highlights of his film acting credits include: Beach Boys (Tzury Mimon, 1992), Licking the Raspberry (Uri Barabash, 1992), Amazing Grace (Amos Guttman, 1992), Actors (aka Auditions, Ron Ninio, 1995), The Investigation Must Go On (Marek Rozenbaum, 2000), Open Heart (aka The Return from India, Menahem Golan, 2002), and Free Zone (Amos Gitai, 2005). His performance in Joseph Cedar’s Time of Favor (2000) won Avni an Ophir Award for Best Actor.
Alongside his film and theatre roles, Avni has starred in many television series including Tironoot (‘basic training’) (1998-2001), Mossad 101 (2015-2016), and She Has It (2018). In 2001, Avni relocated to the US where he spent the next few years living in LA with his then-wife, actress and model Sendi Bar. During his LA Stint, Avni landed a string of guest roles in a range of series including 24, JAG, and The Unit.
