A documentary produced by the Israeli Film Service.
We must help the English in their war as if there were no White Paper, and we must stand against the White Paper as if there were no war (David BenGurion). In the spirit of this concept, Jewish young men and women set out to fight alongside the British against the Nazi enemy in World War II, towards the end of which the Jewish Brigade was established with the support of Winston Churchill, whose fighters became the IDFs professional and experienced core. The film tells the story of the volunteers and the formation of Israeli Jewish identity during the war. The film includes footage from the Holocaust and the war against the Nazis in Egypt, Greece, and Italy. Warriors of the period, including Chaim Laskov and Ezer Weizmann, recall the courageous activities of the Jewish volunteers.
