A short documentary about the 50th anniversary celebrations of the city of Holon. The city, which was founded in 1936 on dunes, celebrates its 50th with a series of festive events: the planting of a grove by the city’s veterans, visits by President Chaim Herzog, Prime Minister Shimon Peres, and his deputy Yitzhak Shamir, a grand parade featuring police riders, veterans of the Hagana, dancers, and youth movements, a nostalgic gathering of former students at Bialik School, And Mayor Pinchas Eylon, who accompanied all the events, was given a German medal of honor from the German ambassador for his contribution to developing twin city relations with West Germany. The events concluded with a musical that tells the city’s story.
