“The city which conquered the sandy wilderness also conquered the hearts of the new immigrants who streamed to it ceaselessly and saw in Holon their new town and home.” Holon, which was inhabited in ancient times and since then abandoned and turned into a sandy wasteland, has become a large and green city thanks to the momentum of Jewish settlement. Today, headed by mayor Pinchas Eilon, the city is growing and developing and offers its residents advanced education, places of employment, sports and cultural centers, synagogues, and more.
