Neve Tzedek in Tel Aviv, the seventies of the last century, is a poor and neglected neighborhood, the synagogues are empty, the streets are deserted, and desolation prevails everywhere A few natives of the neighborhood, elderly people who live there to this day tell about the distant and rich past of the neighborhood, lamenting its deterioration, but mostly tell about its founder, Aharon Shloush who was one of the leaders of the Sephardic community in the city of Jaffa, a jeweler, a money changer and a land dealer who encouraged Jewish settlement in the city The history of the Shloush family, is mainly from his granddaughter Margalit Shloush Havazelet The sight of the crumbling houses and the great poverty in the neighborhood, a few years before it was rebuilt and turned into the expensive neighborhood it is today.
