Why establish an engineering college specifically in the remote and isolated northern part of Israel? The Ort Braude Academic College of Engineering will not only be an international engineering college but will also create a model community. The college’s vision is to produce educated professionals filled with a sense of mission to propel the Galilee region into the 21st century. Just as the global Ort organization is already implementing this ideal around the world—in Peru, Argentina, Brazil, France, and more—Karmiel is the next city to become part of this vision. The film presents the plan to establish the college in Karmiel and the vision of the Ort organization. Donors from around the world for the project were invited to a gratitude event in Tel Aviv, where Prime Minister Shimon Peres spoke, and in Karmiel, a signing ceremony for a dedication scroll was held in preparation for the establishment of the college, which was signed by, among others, President Isaac Herzog, former President Ephraim Katzir, Karmiel Mayor Baruch Vanger, and Ort board members Yosef Harmatz and Israel Goralnik.
