A short film produced as part of the project “Israeli Archive for Painting and Sculpture” for filmed documentation of Israeli artists.
The film presents the work of Alexander Bogen, a painter and sculptor brought who came to Israel from Vilnius in 1951. Viewers are given a glimpse into a selection of Bogen’s works, which have been exhibited in galleries and major institutions across the country and the world. The artist is also filmed in the process of creation in his studio and during the presentation of one of his exhibitions at the Tel Aviv Museum. Against the backdrop of these scenes, the narrator shares details from Bogen’s life, from his time as a partisan leader during the Holocaust to his many achievements in the field of art as a creator and teacher.
