The script follows a week by week account of events in the 1948 war starting with the 1947 UN resolution on the Partition Plan for Palestine and concluding with Israel’s first Defense Forces Parade, on July 27, 1948. The tenth week of the war A car bomb explodes near the offices of the Palestine Post, the Yishuvs Englishlanguage newspaper Some claim that the attack was perpetrated by the British, and it is discovered that the bombers were agents of Abd alQadir alHusayni and that, Fawzi elKutub, known as the engineer, carried out the attack in league with British officials The Haganah headquarters infiltrate a security unit and weapons in the port of Haifa, to prevent a recurrence of the refinery massacre The discovery of a weapon leads to tensions between the Arab and Jewish workers and the intervention of the British police, who shoot and kill an armed Jewish worker The Yishuv leadership advances international diplomatic efforts, and BenGurion demands the establishment of a Jewish militia at a press conference Russian newspapers support the Yishuvs position and argue that British support for the Arabs encourages Arab aggression
