A 35 episode documentary TV series created by the Israeli Film Service. The script follows a week by week account of events in the 1948 war starting with the 1947 UN resolution on the Partition Plan for Palestine and concluding with Israel’s first Defense Forces Parade, on July 27, 1948.

In the winter of 1948, the Jewish Agency purchased 24 small training aircraft from British army surplus and the Public Service Headquarters announces general recruitment, prohibiting 17 to 25yearold men and women from leaving the country. The Agency leadership plans an armament campaign and votes to send Golda Myerson (Meir) to lead the mission once she convinces them that she is better suited for the task than David BenGurion. In a fascinating interview, Meir reveals the determination and charm that eventually enable her to fulfill the mission and raise the necessary funds for the armament campaign.
